Inlays
The rosette inlay features generous use of abalone and pink abalone.
Its delicate vine motif was designed by illustrator Aki Kobayashi (Francegum).
Skilled artisans cut each piece of shell individually and set them by hand with great care and precision.
The bird and dog inlays featured on the fingerboards of the Deluxe models are based on designs by Aki Kobayashi and were meticulously crafted by hand at the Ayers workshop.
Body
The body is made from carefully selected solid tonewoods, chosen not only for their beauty but also for their unique tonal character. Mahogany, Hawaiian koa, and white mango each bring their own expression to the instrument.
Tuner
Fitted with custom-designed Gotoh side-gear tuners made exclusively for Mon Ami. A shortened button shaft and simplified internal construction provide a lightweight feel and excellent playability.
Finish
The satin finish offers a natural look and a warm, mellow tone.
The gloss finish delivers a more luxurious appearance with a clear, articulate sound.
The finish—satin or gloss—is carefully selected for each model.
Interior Label Design
The interior label reflects Mon Ami’s concept of a ukulele that feels like a friend always by your side. The design was created by illustrator Aki Kobayashi (Francegum).
It depicts animals joyfully listening to the sound of the ukulele, alongside a player surrounded by vines. From the inner label, a gentle and heartwarming story unfolds.
